The return of outdoor farmers’ markets is one of the great joys of spring in Rochester. After a long winter, there’s nothing quite like wandering between tents in the fresh morning air, coffee in hand, and seeing the first strawberries, radishes, rhubarb, and greens of the season. At Farmhouse Table, the beginning of market season is something we look forward to all year—it’s a return to our roots, both literally and figuratively.

Each Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., you’ll find our tent at the Brighton Farmers Market, a beloved community institution that celebrates the bounty of local farms and food producers. In 2025, we proudly set up our tent at the Rochester Lilac Festival’s Lilac Local Farmers Market, a new addition to the renowned festival. This new event brings the heart of the local food community to one of Rochester’s most iconic spring celebrations, and we’re honored to be part of it.

What do we bring to the markets? We like to think of our stand as a seasonal snapshot of the kitchen and the region—pints of fresh salads like quinoa tossed with herbs or pasta with roasted vegetables, jams and jellies made from fruits grown right here in New York State, and baked goods crafted with the season’s best ingredients. One week you might find muffins made with spring rhubarb or scones dotted with local berries; the next, it could be lemony cakes or maple-glazed cookies. What ties it all together is our commitment to freshness, seasonality, and supporting the small farms that help make this region so special.

In fact, Farmhouse Table began as a farmers market business. Ten years ago, we were the folks setting up our pop-up tent at weekend markets, cooking from scratch and sourcing whatever local farmers had left over at the end of the day. That’s how we got started—turning surplus produce into beautiful preserves, pickles, and spreads. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was real, and it was the beginning of something that grew into the full-service catering company we are today.

A decade later, we haven’t lost touch with those early days. Many of the same farmers we met at the beginning are still part of our network today. They’re not just suppliers—they’re friends. We still buy directly from them, we still plan our menus around what’s coming into season, and we still use their fruits and vegetables to make our house recipes. We’ve grown, yes, but our values haven’t changed: local first, quality always.

That’s why being present at farmers markets is more than just a sales opportunity for us. It’s a return to community. It’s a chance to talk directly with customers, to see what they’re cooking at home, to share recipes and stories. And it’s a way for us to stay grounded in the relationships and ingredients that have defined us since the beginning.

If you’re visiting us at the Brighton Farmers Market or the Lilac Local Farmers Market, you’ll find more than just things to eat—you’ll find a snapshot of our kitchen’s philosophy. Try a salad that’s perfect for a picnic or a work lunch. Don’t skip the baked goods—they’re made by hand in our bakery using recipes that change with the seasons. Browse some pantry & gift items we bring from the shelves of our Shop, which is open year-round in Irondequoit.

We hope you’ll stop by, say hello, and take something home that connects you to the farms and flavors of Rochester. Whether it’s your first farmers market or your fiftieth, there’s always something new to discover—and we’re proud to be part of that journey.

As the lilacs bloom and the tents go up, we’re reminded why we do what we do. Farmhouse Table started under a canopy with a folding table, some preserves, and a cooler full of salad. Today, we still bring that same spirit to every market: a love of local food, a deep respect for our farming partners, and a desire to share something good with our neighbors. Welcome to market season—we’ll see you out there.
